The GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station in Futian, located along a main passage inside Futian High-Speed Railway Station, held its unveiling ceremony today. On October 29, 2024, the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station (Futian), jointly established by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the People's Government of Futian District, Shenzhen, and the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Guangdong, held its launch ceremony at Futian High-Speed Railway Station.

Around 100 guests attended the ceremony, including HKTDC Executive Director Margaret Fong; Zhong Yongxi, HKTDC Chief Representative for Mainland China; Zhu Yonghui, full-time Deputy Director of the Guangdong Greater Bay Area Office; Wu Kunsheng, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government; Huang Wei, Secretary of the CPC Futian District Committee; Yu Feng, Deputy District Mayor of Futian; Luo Huixin, President of the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in Guangdong; heads of relevant Shenzhen government departments; and key representatives from Hong Kong business associations and partner organizations, including the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the Hong Kong Chinese Importers' and Exporters' Association, the Internet Professional Association, the Hong Kong Software Industry Association, the Qianhai Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce, and the Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Association. Liu Di, Co-Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Innovation Design Alliance and CEO of MCJ Design, was invited to attend the launch ceremony.

A 'Starting Point' from Hong Kong West Kowloon！

Futian High-Speed Railway Station is China's first fully underground railway station located in an urban center. Each day, more than 50 pairs of high-speed trains run between Futian and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. The trip takes only 14 minutes to West Kowloon Station and 38 minutes to Guangzhou South Station, forming a 'Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong half-hour commuting circle.'

Futian High-Speed Railway Station is both a starting point for Hong Kong's high-speed rail links to mainland cities and a convenient starting point for Hong Kong residents and businesses entering the Mainland.

To help Hong Kong and Macao businesspeople gain deeper access to front-line business information in the Greater Bay Area, the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station (Futian) is located on B1 of Futian High-Speed Railway Station. Covering 424 square meters, it includes an information counter, service hall, reception room, and meeting rooms, integrating functions such as consultation, referral, display, events, and gathering.

Guided by the principle of 'based in Futian, serving the Bay Area, and facing the nation,' the station creates a dedicated space for serving Hong Kong businesses. It aims to understand and respond to their needs, allowing Hong Kong businesses to access one-stop services immediately after leaving the station, including registration guidance, government-service processing, business advisory support, and legal and accounting assistance, thereby helping them begin their business journey in the Greater Bay Area quickly.

'In addition to the existing support services provided by Hong Kong business support stations, the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station (Futian) has added new functions, including the first 5G government-service guidance system and a new service hall, which will provide Hong Kong's business community with more comprehensive support and information,' HKTDC Executive Director Margaret Fong said at the launch ceremony. 'In the future, we plan to host more exchange activities here to promote communication and cooperation between Hong Kong enterprises and mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area.'

Speaking at the ceremony, Zhu Yonghui said: 'With the joint efforts of all parties, the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station will surely become a warm harbor for Hong Kong businesses in the Greater Bay Area, injecting new momentum into the prosperity and development of the region. Next, we will work hand in hand with the HKTDC to actively support the construction and development of the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station, provide Hong Kong enterprises with professional and efficient integrated services, and help them seize development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area and open up a new development landscape.'

Yu Feng said that during the six-month trial operation of the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station (Futian), it provided consulting services to more than 2,000 Hong Kong businesses. Among them, hundreds of Hong Kong-invested enterprises expressed interest in investing and establishing operations in the Greater Bay Area, and eight have already settled in Futian. Futian will take the official launch of the station as a new starting point, fully leverage the advantages of its central urban location, and continue to provide high-quality services to Hong Kong businesses, including business consultation, landing support, business assistance, warm enterprise services, and entrepreneurship exchanges, working together to create a new chapter of Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation.

Luo Huixin said that by participating in and supporting the construction and operation of the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station (Futian), the chamber has helped create an integrated one-stop support service that Hong Kong residents can access directly upon arrival. The initiative promotes deeper Guangdong-Hong Kong exchanges and cooperation, and provides diversified support tailored to the development needs of Hong Kong enterprises planning to establish a presence in the Greater Bay Area.

Understanding Hong Kong Businesses' Development Needs and Helping Them Explore the Greater Bay Area

HKTDC has integrated its SME Centre in Hong Kong, its newly established HKTDC Greater Bay Area Service Centres in Shenzhen and Guangzhou, and Hong Kong business support stations in the nine mainland cities of the Greater Bay Area. It has deepened links and cooperation with government departments, institutions, chambers of commerce, associations, and partners in Guangdong and Hong Kong. Together with the GoGBA digital platform, this has formed a service network that supports Hong Kong businesses in developing in the Greater Bay Area.

 'We must understand the real needs of Hong Kong businesses in order to provide them with more practical services,' Zhong Yongxi said. 'We hope to rely on the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station (Futian) to enhance our services for Hong Kong businesses in the Greater Bay Area, encourage Hong Kong businesses that may come to the Mainland in the future to use our platform and obtain on-the-ground services as they develop in different locations. We will also organize cross-regional study missions to help Hong Kong businesses broaden their horizons and develop domestic sales.'

Since preparations began, the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station (Futian) has held 58 events in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, served more than 4,600 Hong Kong business participants, and provided consulting services to more than 2,000 Hong Kong businesses.

These services include organizing multiple 'Hong Kong Businesses Entering the Greater Bay Area' study missions, sharing sessions, exchange meetings, and policy briefings. Professional teams have worked with relevant government departments, industry associations, chambers of commerce, and service organizations to provide one-on-one, face-to-face policy, market, and business consultation services to Hong Kong businesses interested in developing in the Greater Bay Area. This has built a solid bridge for Hong Kong-invested enterprises to enter the mainland market, while further promoting mutually beneficial economic cooperation and win-win integration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

When the Hong Kong creative design organization Beyond Creative Group first entered Shenzhen, its first design project was worth only RMB 2,000. It has since grown into a 100-person team handling projects worth tens of millions of yuan and has become a National High-tech Enterprise and a Shenzhen Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative Enterprise. Founder Chen Fengming said: 'Hong Kong businesses now receive many conveniences and forms of support when developing in the Greater Bay Area, but we cannot be satisfied with that alone. We must further deepen our own business and leverage our strengths, so that we can showcase our work through the GoGBA Hong Kong Business Support Station and other platforms.'
